- Address information: Service addresses, billing addresses
- Payment information: Credit/debit card details, bank account information (processed securely via Stripe)
- Identity verification: Government ID, business licenses, insurance documents (for Providers)
- Communications: Messages sent through our Platform, support inquiries
Information Collected Automatically:
- Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage data: App interactions, features used, time spent on Platform
- Location data: GPS location (when you enable location services)
- Log data: IP address, browser type, access times, pages viewed
- Cookies and tracking technologies: For analytics and personalization
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide and maintain the Platform: Process service requests, facilitate transactions, enable communication between users
- Process payments: Handle payment transactions, payouts to Providers, refunds
- Verify identity: Confirm user identities, validate Provider credentials and insurance
- Improve our services: Analyze usage patterns, develop new features, optimize user experience
- Communicate with you: Send service updates, booking confirmations, promotional messages (with consent), support responses
- Ensure safety and security: Detect fraud, enforce Terms of Service, protect users
- Legal compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Between users: Customer information is shared with Providers to fulfill service requests (subject to privacy settings); Provider information is shown to Customers
- Service providers: With third parties who perform services on our behalf (payment processing, analytics, cloud hosting, customer support)
- Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process
- Safety and protection: To protect the rights, property, or safety of WasteMrkt, our users, or others
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With consent: When you have given us explicit permission
We DO NOT sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Your Privacy Controls
You have control over your personal information through the following settings:
- Profile Visibility: Control whether Providers can see your name on direct bookings before acceptance
- Location Sharing: Control whether your full address or only city/ZIP is shared with Providers after acceptance
- Analytics Sharing: Choose whether to share anonymous usage data to help improve our services
- Notification Preferences: Manage email, push, and SMS notification settings
- Marketing Communications: Opt out of promotional emails at any time
Note: For marketplace listings, your name always shows as "Customer" and only city/ZIP is visible until you accept a Provider, regardless of your settings.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption: All data transmitted to and from our Platform is encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Secure storage: Personal data is stored in encrypted databases
- Payment security: Payment information is processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment processors (Stripe)
- Access controls: Employee access to user data is restricted and logged
- Two-factor authentication: Available for enhanced account security
- Biometric login: Optional Face ID/Touch ID support
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide our services and maintain your account
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, regulatory requirements)
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
- Maintain business records as required by law
Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Our Platform integrates with third-party services including:
- Stripe: Payment processing (see Stripe's Privacy Policy)
- Google Maps: Location and mapping services
- Expo/React Native: Mobile app framework
- Supabase: Database and authentication services
- Twilio: SMS notifications
- Resend: Email services
